Ruby
Happy-go-lucky · Social · Adventurous
Her Story
Ruby had a home at one point, but she was found as a stray in October 2026 and eventually made her way into ATTFR’s care. She’s now settling into foster life and showing everyone just how adaptable and cheerful she can be. Ruby is ready to find a family who will help her continue growing while giving her the love and stability she deserves.
Personality
Ruby is a happy-go-lucky girl who seems to find a friend wherever she goes. She’s very social with other dogs and has yet to meet a human she doesn’t like. Long and lean, with springs in her legs, Ruby brings a lively energy to everything she does.
She’s also a bit skittish at times, but her adaptable nature helps her take new experiences in stride. Ruby has a playful, cheeky side, too—she may just try to sneak a bone right out of another dog’s mouth! Thankfully, she isn’t interested in fighting over it. She’s a fun-loving girl who brings plenty of personality to the home.
Life in Foster Care
Ruby is settling into foster life with ease and is happy to be part of the action. She enjoys the company of other dogs and loves being around people. Her medium energy makes her a lovely balance of playful and adaptable, ready to enjoy an adventure before settling into the routine of home life.
Car rides used to be something Ruby dreaded, but she’s made wonderful progress and now hops into the vehicle without issue. She’s also kennel trained and goes into her kennel willingly, making that part of her daily routine a breeze.
Learning & Growing
Ruby is a bright girl who is making steady progress with her training. She knows “sit” and patiently waits for treats, while “down” is nearly there. “Leave it” is still a work in progress, but she’s getting better every day.
She has decent recall, though it isn’t quite reliable yet, and she’s working on her leash manners. She isn’t a puller, which is a great starting point as she continues learning to walk nicely with her people.
Ruby is also still learning what belongs to humans and what’s meant for dogs, so supervision will be important as she figures out the household rules. With consistency, encouragement, and a little patience, she’s showing that she’s eager to learn.
Looking for Her Perfect Home
Ruby is an adaptable, social girl who could fit into a wide variety of homes. She’d love a family who enjoys having a cheerful companion by their side, whether that means getting outside for a walk, spending time with other dogs, or simply sharing the everyday moments of home life.
Her future family should be ready to keep building on her training, help her navigate new experiences when she feels a little unsure, and supervise her as she learns the difference between dog treats and human snacks. In return, Ruby offers a whole lot of affection, fun, and a wonderfully happy presence.
She’s ready to bring her springy legs, friendly spirit, and big-hearted personality into her next chapter.
